Wake People Up is growing and we need your help. Please contact us if you are interested in becoming an abolitionist. We encourage anyone with a passion to end slavery to become engaged in any position that you are interested in. We are seeking volunteers in the following areas:

Events Planning and Production-
Little or no experience is required, but please bring your enthusiasm! Event coordinators will be considered from the Northern Colorado area. The following are some of the event planning responsibilities:

  • Assist with negotiations for space contracts and book event space, arrange food and beverage, order supplies and audiovisual equipment,  order event signs, and ensure appropriate décor (florals, linens, color schemes, etc.).
  • Gather information on each project to achieve quality event productions.
  • Conduct research and find resources to help staff make decisions about event possibilities.
  • Propose new ideas to improve the event planning and implementation process.
  • Serve as liaison with vendors on event-related matters.
  • Assist with managing on-site production and clean up for events as necessary.
  • Prepare name tags, materials, notebooks, packages, gift bags, registration lists, seating cards, etc.

Graphic Design-
Work provided can be submitted from anywhere, worldwide. The following skill sets are desired for those working within the graphic design area:

  • Skill with a wide range of media, including photography and computer aided design.
  • Capable of producing accurate and high quality work.
  • Creating promotional displays including signs and signage systems for public exhibition.
  • Thinking creatively to produce new ideas.
  • Strong skills in Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator.
  • Established relation and coordination with print company for production of print pieces.

Research Team-
This part of the organization is a driving force for the heartbeat of Wake People Up. This team will work together to provide updated news and events from around the world regarding sex trafficking. Their efforts will help mold local events planned, with the direction of the Events Coordinators, to raise awareness of sex trafficking and for funding safe houses. Research team skill sets and duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Ability to gather information through listening, researching and utilizing social networking mediums.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability both to work on own initiative without supervision, and within a team environment.
  • To maintain a full knowledge of all ongoing research so that any crossover can be identified and opportunities can be fully maximized.
  • To ensure that prospect research meets required standards of depth and accuracy via performance management of the team.
  • To select, recruit and manage inductions of new members of staff.
  • To motivate and inspire the team, and lead by example.
  • To work as part of a team to ensure that the overall objectives of the team are achieved.
  • To undertake other tasks as necessary to contribute to department and/or team objectives.

Proceeds from all sales will help safe houses continue to rescue and restore victims of sex trafficking.
